FROM THE WARREN REPORTER (NJN Publishing)
Friday, May 25, 2007

HACKETTSTOWN -- It's been many years since a real trolley rolled through town, but for some 200-plus riders May 5, it was a glimpse into the past as they enjoyed an afternoon Fiesta co-sponsored by the Hackettstown Business Improvement District and Trinity United Methodist Church. Dozens of multi-cultural events and activities were presented in a celebration of the town's diverse population, providing visitors with an opportunity to enjoy Hackettstown's downtown area during the town's busiest weekend the Spring Festival weekend presented by the Warren County Regional Chamber of Commerce. The trolley, provided by the BID and sponsored by Warren County Community College, transported visitors throughout the town's business district, spotlighting merchants and businesses along the way, and provided transportation to and from the festival fields behind Centenary College.

David M. Rucki, executive director of the business improvement district, says the Hackettstown Fiesta, which was presented by K. Hovnanian Homes and supported through additional grants from Skylands Community Bank and The Arc of Warren County, attracted hundreds of people to the downtown area. Plans are being made to present the Hackettstown Fiesta in 2008.
